Artist Jenny Elkins & Chemist Ed Angleton

The Angleton's came to Louisville this weekend. I forced Jenny to go thru my home studio and help me de-clutter by taking stuff! Would not let her leave until her car was loaded to the roof.

Jenny is such a talent. As a collage artist, she uses everything! So I was only too happy to have my beloved stuff go to a good home. Currently she is making some mixed media jewelry, that is so cool! You can find her at her Etsy store.

The "A" Team

Kent, Susan, and Rick are standing in front of building "A" because my store was so full of customers for my Big-Ass Store Closing Sale. I'll be open only 5 more Saturdays. Official Closing August 1,2011. But don't fret....you will still be able to come to my "much larger" home studio and I will be doing more local and regional art shows now that I will be free of store retail hours!

Thank You For Making My Big Ass Sale a Success

I'll be open Saturdays 11-4. The sign out front says 25% off but really I am taking 50% off everything in my store until it is all gone. Over the past 7 years I have managed to accumulate a bunch of stuff.

Sign up on my e-mail list. I will be having two Big-Ass Open Houses at my home studio. One in December before Christmas and one Late April before Derby.

Big Ass Fan / Justine Dennis

This year Marcie the promoter of Francisco's Farm Art Show took weather matters into her own hands and hired "Big Ass Fans" to keep the outdoor Art Show cool and comfy.

To promote this venture she sent "Big Ass Fannies" to all the artists to art up if they want. I suspect there is a contest!!! I am sick that I will not be at the show this year I love this sort of project.

Here are some of my faves. Go to Francisco's Farm Art Show in Midway, Ky this weekend and vote on your favorite fannie.

This one is by Justine Dennis one of my Fave fiber artists.

Lady Fra-Ga / Jamison Brumm

Detail of Lady Fra-Ga, Jeweler Jamison Brumm's Fannie. I hear she has some pretty awesome heels on! Rock On With Your Bad Self!

Big Ass Fan / TR Reed

I am already a big ass fan of artist TR Reed. His style translates perfectly to Fannie.

FAT Friday Trolley Hop Big Ass Sale @ My Store

My lease will be up soon and it is with regret that I have to give up my store. I have been at Mellwood Arts Center for the past 7 years. I am sorta slow because it has taken me this long to realize that I am only one person. My art shows require me on the weekends and so does my store. Although, I have found great people to help run my store... I need to let it go...So come on out to the Trolley Hop tonight I'll be having a Big Ass Sale.

The action begins 6-9. See you tonight!

Very Cool Luggage

Sam and I discovered the great Thrift Stores of Naples. I had to have this vintage suitcase. It has luggage tags from all over the world. I carried it on the plane on the way home and people thought I was a world traveler. No just a savvy thrift store shopper!

Quinn's Marco Island / Stained Glass

5th Avenue Naples

Tampa Airport / Mosiac

Real Estate Explosion / Marco Island

Vacation Destination / Marco Island

We just returned from a relaxing vacation. My grandparents built a house on Marco Island in the 1970's. My parents have spent the past few winters bringing the house into the 2000's.

This small island is now overflowing with real estate. It only had one gas station and grocery store in the 70's.

Great R & R. Went to the beach twice a day. Had plans to jet ski, snorkle, take a segway tour of Naples but opted for naps and the beach most days. Did manage to go to the FAB thrift stores in Naples. Dined on fish everyday.

Sam is a good sport to pose with me!

Backstage Shrek / Pam, Rat, Pinocchio

Pam is a Craftsperson by day and a Dresser for the Theatre at night. She took the red eye from the ACRE Wholesale Craft Show in Los Vegas so she could arrive in time to be a "Dresser" during Shrek's run at the Kentucky Center. Despite no sleep she gave us a backstage tour after the performance. You Rock Pam!!

Rick as Pinocchio. One of my favorite costumes. His nose even grew when he lied. Looked like he had wood legs, arms, and body. No Rick's nose didn't grow because he never lies....Or his pants would be on fire.

Backstage Shrek / Dragon Puppet

Basckstage Shrek / Donkey & Shrek

Detail of Donkey's ears and shoes.

Shrek's under/costume has vents so the actor doesn't suffocate and a belly button. Love it!

Backstage Shrek / Lord Farquaad's Knights

Backstage Shrek / The 3 Pigs

Backstage Shrek / Duloc Dancers

Duloc Dancers wear these rubber costumes with yellow rubber hair. Very funny!

Aside from the load out "meltdown" and the speeding ticket on the way home....I had a great time! Thanks Indy!

Adorable Redhead and Ryan Moriarty

Nephew Ryan and cute prom date. And she must be smart too because she really can shorten her prom dress and make a little black dress.

Next year Ryan will go to Hanover College on a scholarship and will play for the Hanover Soccer Team. Graduation was this week. Rock On With Your Bad Self Ry-Guy!

Congrats to my brother Michael and his wife Tammy for successfully raising two wonderful boys and keeping them both too busy with sports to get into any trouble:)
