St James Court Art Show

This show really needs no advertizing. Everyone knows the first weekend in October...there is no better place to be than Louisville, KY. The show is Friday thru Sunday.

My booth is located on 4th and Magnolia. So excited about the show this year!

Did I mention that Doreen Barnhart did the poster. Her designs have been selected for three Art Venues this season. Rock on Poster Queen!

David Sean and Doolittle

David and Sean came to Art in the Highlands with their new dog Doolittle. Who they call Doo. OMG is this the cutest dog you have ever seen????

Don't tell Bear and LuLu that I fell in love with Doo. Another red head. Were rare you know.

How I Spent My Summer Vacation

I read a lot! I love to read. So I was excited when Mary Kinney, artist friend, suggested the Outlander series. She said time travel is involved and I told her I didn't enjoy Science Fiction but loved Historical Fiction. She knew I would love this series because they go back in time instead of forward.

I went to a Used book store first since they were older books. I was told to read the books in order. But of course I was so smug that I thought I could defy this theory. I read the second book first since the bookstore was out of the first. Then I discovered, you need to read the books in order.

After the first book I was in Love with Jamie and he has been my Scottish Lover all summer. I finished the last book in August and can't wait for the next. Men in kilts are now vera vera sexy!

Mellwood Rocks!!!

WoW Another Great Year! I need a good Photo of Scooter, Jane and Miguel. Because they helped make this second year show a huge success! Better than last year. A steady flow of consumers all day long. My store did almost as well as my booth. Now I am getting ready for Art In The Highlands! See You there!

Kent and Rick / Art in Speed Park

Rick is showing off his new addition to their hand crafted christmas ornaments. Called On the Lamb. Or maybe it was Lamb on the Lamb...Or sheep something. Oh well it was really clever.

Susan Abbott / Birth Announcement

Susan made this adorable birth nottice for Rick and Kent's new addition to their family. Queenie is pushing the carriage.

Buddy Boy Epler Milburn

Has been in Epler "boot camp" training for the past month. Poor Queenie has been in the camp too. Can you teach an old dog new tricks while teaching the new....Hmmmmmm.

Buddy will be so well behaved that it will shame all other dog owners!

After Art in Speed Park

It is always a delight to see Pat Brinson the "rainmaker" for the Crescent Hill 4th of July Art Show.

I am sure Pat has discovered that it is much more fun to be at a show as a patron of the arts than to host one. So here she is enjoying the day at Art in Speed Park.

Ruby Red Slippers @ Art in Speed Park

She didn't want me to take her picture...I promised I just wanted her feet! Gotta love a girl who wears ruby slippers with different socks. After all, the shoes did match her dress.

Dave Johnson's Bottle Tree

Dave built this wonderful bottle tree for the wine grotto at Art in Speed Park. In the production phase...Kim (wife and director of the show) kept thinking there were not enough branches. Finally, Dave figured out that she just wanted to drink more wine. He had to stop adding branches so there wouldn't be a bottle forest.

Gaye Medbury / Mixed Media Artist

At first I notticed the hat.....

She's wearing cool ear rings too....

Then OMG the BACKPACK!!!!!!!!!!

So over the course of many art shows I have met Gaye who made the awesome back pack. I just know we were friends in another life and should be in this one.

Gaye Medbury / The Awesome Backpack

Dave and Kim Johnson

Finally, Dave Johnson, Kim's better half was recognized for all his hard work.

Kim has been director of Art in Speed Park for the past 18 of the 20 years the show has been in existence. They began with 12 artists and now have over 100. Dave has been following the directions of the director and adding some of his own for the past 18 years.

We all know that behind every sucessful woman is a man who carries out her orders:) Dave, I have always known about your hard work. I saw you scale that wall on the I65to put up the Art in Speed Park Sign.

Jeaneen, Kim, and Doreen

Art in Speed Park was Rockin this year!!! I just don't believe the economy is bad when I have my best Art in Speed Park ever! This year Jeaneen won Best of Show in fine art!! Her twin Doreen who is just as gifted, designed the poster and t-shirts for the show. And... we all know Kim Johnson...Today's Woman, Woman of the Year in Arts recognizes talent when she see's it. But it just doesn't seem fair that these women are adorable as well as talented!
